Description: 

File tests each argument in an attempt to classify it. There are three sets of tests, performed in this order: filesystem tests, magic number tests, and language tests. The first test that succeeds causes the file type to be printed.

Starting with version 4, the file command is not much more than a wrapper around the "magic" library.

Description: 

Lynis is an auditing tool for Unix (specialists). It scans systems to detect software and security issues. Besides security-related information, it will also scan for general system information, installed packages, and possible configuration mistakes. The software is aimed at assisting automated auditing, software patch management, and vulnerability and malware scanning of Unix-based systems.

TouchFreeze docks in your system tray (KDE/Gnome) and disables button click events while typing.

TouchFreeze docks in your system tray (KDE/Gnome) and disables button click events while typing.

TouchFreeze project is similar to ksynaptics if you know that but more simple.

Differences:

· no configuration of the touch pad
· ksynaptics ranks high on powertop
· thus needs Xevie Extension to be enabled in xorg.conf
· no additional dependencies but Qt4 and libXevie

Description: 

This package contains a calendar for the Xfce4 desktop environment. It integrates itself nicely into the desktop environment, is highly configurable and supports alerts based on dates. If you are looking for a good graphical calendar, you will probably want to try out orage. It stores its data in iCal format.
