[i]Hi, My name is Terry and I seem to be having trouble with this new program. I love it because of the speed ,and the way it is so different from Windows. You will have to excuse some of my typing, I fell down a flight of stairs and broke both wrist. One is still broken and the doctors are giving me a hard time, so the nerves are pressing against my first, third and little finger making it hard to type. Anyway, I am starting to go back to school next month. After 15 years being in the medical field, I am changing careers to Legal Studies. So does Mepis have some of the same programs such as power point? When I am in school we have leads we have to keep up with, and APA style writing. Lots of papers to do in certain formats. Can someone help me.

As mentioned, you'd be far better off asking for help on the forums rather than here. However, I'll take the opportunity to remind you that you really need to try not to relate things to what you're familiar with in Windows. For example, installing programs is totally different! Most of the time you need look no further than Synaptic to search for and install various apps. Try opening up Synaptic and searching for OpenOffice. If you mark Openoffice.org and Openoffice.org-base, that should pull in pretty much the whole suite. You can also tailor things to your needs while you're there. For example, I replace all the US English 'stuff' with GB/UK English. Hope that gets you started. See you over on the forums.

Blogs are not designed for getting help, that's what the MepisLovers forum is for. But before you go posting over there, please read through the User's Manual, especially Section 8 on Basic Use--it will help a lot.
Good luck.
